JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – David Edward Simpson visited the Campbell County Jail twice in two days, according to jail records. Simpson was most recently arrested on Nov. 8 by the sheriff’s department.

Campbell County Deputy Anthony Mahar saw Simpson driving on Eagle Bluff Road failing to stay in the correct lane. He then made a left turn on to School Road. At this point, Mahar made a traffic stop. When he approached the vehicle, Simpson was holding his hands over his face crying. When Mahar asked if he was okay, he told him that his driver’s license was revoked. He then allegedly asked Mahar if he would work with him or if he was going to be arrested,  the arrest report said.

A check of his license revealed this was his third driving on revoked and was revoked for driving under the influence, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

While Simpson was performing a field sobriety test, he gave verbal consent to have blood drawn.
