MARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – The fourth annual Clays for Children Sporting Clays Tournament is set for Friday at the Chilhowee Sportsman’s Club.  The event raises funds for the children’s centers of Campbell, Claiborne, Fentress, Scott and Union Counties.

The event, the brainchild of 8th Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler, is the second largest sporting clays tournament held at the south Blount County facility.  And after Friday, it could end up being the largest.

At the 2018 clays tourney, Cray Vinsant led off at Station 3.

The General said, “We are super excited!  Last year was our largest shoot with 66 teams, and we are expecting an even larger event this year.”  Effler welcomes you to attend whether you are shooting or not.

Friday’s tourney will feature live music, auctions, delicious food and a great time.  All that aside, Effler said, “But most importantly we will raise funds to ensure that our Children’s Centers can continue to provide preventative education and services to abused and neglected children.”
