LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – In less than 10 minutes, the LaFollette City Council completed its special called meeting on Monday afternoon.

The first item on the agenda was the road repair at South 13th Street and Loop Road. The road has an erosion issue that needs a permanent fix. One bid from Shotcrete Contractors in the amount of $18,000 was received. The council agreed to accept the bid.  The repair should begin Wednesday and be finished on Friday. Councilman Mark Hoskins said, “I have researched the repair, and it appears this should be a permanent fix from my understanding.”

The next item up for discussion was the repair of fire truck. Mayor Mike Stanfield voiced his frustration with the number of mechanical issues they have experienced with this particular truck since acquiring it. The repair of the truck will be completed at Cummins in Knoxville.  “They’re the only one in the area who can do the repair,” said Fire Chief Charles Eldridge. The council agreed  the repair is an emergency and to move forward with the $17,000 repair. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/10/2019-6AM)
