David Lewis Smith, of Lake City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at his residence. David was born November 13, 1944 in Hillsdale, MI to the late Myren Lewis and Imogean Baker Smith. David lived in Michigan for most of his life until he retired from the Dora Corporation and moved to Tennessee to be with his sons. He enjoyed working with his hands, especially on small engines. In his younger days he rode with the motorcycle club Ghost Riders. He was an avid hunter, but fishing was his favorite. Racing was a big part of his life. He could be found most weekends watching his favorite drivers whether it was at the dirt track or drag racing. David is preceded in death by his parents , children David Smith Jr., Scott Smith, Angela Rust, daughter-in-law Alice Smith, and grandchildren Lawrence Seiber and Lawrence Seiber Jr.

A graveside service will be held following the funeral service for David at the Brown Flats Cemetery in Briceville.
