LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The Graham Brothers, Logan, Maverick, Wyatt and Harlyn, came away with plenty of school supplies on Saturday at the Big Rock Tavern.  And so did nearly 200 other students.  Their father, Ray Graham, figured it takes about $70 per son for school supplies or upwards of $300.  He said it helps out greatly that the schools provide a school supply needs list.  Graham said 6th graders need the most from the list.  “The binders are the big thing,” said Graham.  He passed along appreciation to the folks at the Big Rock Tavern for hosting the event.

Volunteers hustled to help students get the school supplies they needed and took time out (below) for a photo before the students and their parents began to arrive.

Organizers Carl and Leigh Blankenship expressed their appreciation to all those who made donations and were thrilled with the turnout.  Leigh said, “It went great.  The little kids were so sweet, fun, funny and shy.”

The parking lot (above) was full and the line was long well before the start time of 10 am at the Big Rock Tavern.

“We had a great time doing this and will continue every year,” said Leigh Blankenship.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/05/2019-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF LEIGH BLANKENSHIP)
