DUFF, TN (WLAF) – A Stinking Creek man caught someone allegedly trying to break in a house on July 4 and called police.

Deputy Charles Courtney went to 2059 Stinking Creek Road to speak with the man about the incident. When he arrived, the man stated he saw an older model white Chevrolet four door car at the house which he believed belonged to the perpetrator.

Courtney began patrolling the Stinking Creek area and made contact with Roger Dean Rose who was on the side of Stinking Creek Road. When asked why he was parked on the side of the road, Rose allegedly said his car was broken down, according to a report from the sheriff’s department. Courtney asked the man if he had been around the house that someone allegedly tried to break into, and Rose said his car had broken down there as well.

Courtney ran a warrant check on Rose and found he had a violation of probation from Anderson County. At this point, he was placed under arrest. During a pat down, a blue plastic container with two plastic bags containing a white/clear substance that appeared to be Meth were found on him.

Rose, 40, 258 Stinking Creek Road, LaFollette is charged with violation of probation (criminal court) and possession of schedule II-controlled substance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/12/2019-6AM)
