LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Auditions are Monday, July 8th, from 7-9pm.  Callbacks will be Tuesday, July 9th, from 7-9pm.  Rehearsal will begin on Thursday, July 11th at 7pm with a full reading of the script.  

The play is set in mid 1950’s and is based on a group of people relocating north for jobs. There is a cast of 12: a young girl about 10, a young man about 15, two young ladies about 15, two mid 30’s male and one mid 30’s female, two male or females ages from 20’s to 40’s, a bus driver and a male 50 ish and a ticket master male or female, age variable. We also need some extra players who will not have lines. You may be asked to read for more than one part and you should plan on staying through to the end as you may be asked to read again. Rehearsals will be during the evening except Wednesday, some Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary. Performances will be two weekends – August 23, 24 and 25 and August 30, 31 and September 1, Fri and Sat at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

You must be available to participate in every rehearsal and performance from August 17th through September 1st.

Postmark Theater is also looking for people interested in working on our next theater production in the following capacities:
Stage Manager:  Have capability of making sure the stage is set for each performance, making sure cast is on stage and where they belong on stage. Interacts with all aspects of the plays cast, crew and volunteers. Small Stipend paid at end of production
Assistant Director:  Assists Elaine-Schatzline-Behr in the direction of the play.  Taking notes during meetings, keeping all changes in order for next rehearsal.  Notifying all cast and crew of their next meetings and being there with Elaine at all rehearsals and communicate smoothly between all cast and crew.  Small Stipend paid at end of production
Wardrobe/Costumer:  Play set in 1950, position needs to be able to find clothes from that era.  Be able to sew/mend and fit costumes for each cast member.  Make sure all costumes are clean for each performance. Small stipend to be paid at end of production.
Set Construction:  Carpentry work building the set for the play, working with Nancy Leach, Set Designer, Tony Branam, playwright, and Elaine Schatzline-Behr, Director.  Stipend paid depending on amount of work involved.
Volunteer Crew:  These are positions that are assisting in a variety of different aspects during rehearsals and the actual play event dates.  Helping with Props and maintaining prop tables, assisting with a variety of things such as setup of stage, storing equipment for safety.
