LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) -LaFollette residents Angela Overbay and Dean Owens were honored Friday night for their contributions to children in foster care. The couple was named the 2019 Camelot Foster Parents of the Year.

Each year, Camelot honors foster parents who have gone above and beyond for children. This year it was Overbay and Owens. The couple has been fostering since 2015. In that time, they have helped several children.
“It’s about the kids,” said Overbay after receiving the award. Both she and Owens seemed stunned to have been selected.
“Angela and Dean embody what it means to be a Camelot Foster Parent,” said Meghan Posey, director of foster care for the agency.
Camelot is located in Jacksboro and always has a need for foster parents. Classes are needed to become a foster parent and Camelot hosts them on a regular basis. For more information on becoming a foster parent see the story below.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 06/11/2019- 6 AM)
