LAFOLLETTE, TN  (WLAF) – Who will read the most books this summer?  Who will win the most prizes for summer reading?  It just might be your child.La Follette Public Library’s  Summer Reading 2019 “Summer Space – A Universe of Stories” begins tomorrow, Friday, June 7, and runs the full month of June.  Full details are HERE.

All programs begin at 10 am in the lower level of the library on South 9th Street.  Lunch is provided for participants by the Campbell County Board of Education and is served at the Splash Park picnic area.

However, only registered participants who are actively reading are allowed to attend the weekly programs.  Dates for the program are on Fridays, June 7, 14, 21 and 28.

You must  hold a valid La Follette Public Library Card with no overdue books or late charges.  Ten books may be taken out per visit.

The first level of reading to qualify for prizes is 10 books which features a prize of a pencil and book marker.  At each increment of ten books, another prize is offered all the way to a Summer Reading T-Shirt at 100 books.  Prizes will be awarded weekly.

Friday, June 7, features Mr. Bond, the Science Guy.  He’ll make science come alive with jaw dropping science experiments.

The special guest on Friday, June 14, is Ron Lighty.  His sidekick, Jason, will be along bringing smiles to readers’ faces with puppetry and ventriloquism.

Friday, June 21, is reptile day.  Scott and Nikki Webb and their sons Rhyno and Storm bring their pets to show you.

The Grand Finale of drawings for prizes, certificates, a splash park party, picnic and fun is Friday, June 28.
