Results from Friday’s sobriety checkpoint are in and include:

3 DUI arrests
12 Seatbelt/CRD violations
1 Suspended DL
2 Drug charges
13 other non-moving violations
4 Registration violations

It was quite a sight on Friday night on the four lane at Elkins Road at Caryville.  More than 30 officers, several emergency vehicles and multiple agencies took part in the scheduled sobriety checkpoint.  Lt. Stacey Heatherly with the Tennessee Highway Patrol told WLAF  the THP held the checkpoint with assistance from its partners in local law enforcement from Campbell and Anderson Counties.

Citations were issued and arrests were made during Friday night’s Sobriety Checkpoint

The THP’s Department of Safety / THSO section assisted along with probation and parole officers.  There was an assistant district attorney on scene plus Emergency Management Agency Director Jay Muncy.  Campbell County Emergency Medical Services was on standby plus an East Tennessee Children’s Hospital injury prevention coordinator to mention a few of the participants.

Police from Caryville, Clinton, La Follette, Jacksboro and Oak Ridge joined in the checkpoint.  Deputies with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department were also on scene of the 9 pm until 11 pm checkpoint.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/13/2019-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF THP LT STACEY HEATHERLY – UPDATED 05/14/2019-6AM)
