Filmworks participants have spent the last six weeks enjoying an exciting series of film making workshops.Under the direction of Willy Adkins, an independent filmmaker and owner of the Chicago based film company, Breaking Fate, participants have been learning the skills needed to produce their own short film.

Adkins and selected professionals guided participants through the entire process of independent film making from screenwriting to film screening. The workshops offered were writing, acting, directing, development and pre-production, production and post-production, post-production, publishing and distribution. Participants produced their own short, independent films during the workshop series.

These films will be showcased and judged during the Filmworks Film Festival and awards ceremony on Sunday, May 5 at 2 pm. The festival is open to the public and will be held at Postmark LaFollette (old LaFollette post office) on South Tennessee Avenue.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/22/2019-6AM)
