It’s just your typical morning for customers and employees at Murphy USA.  A fill-up.  A quick purchase.  And a greeting from Rocky, the rooster (in top photo).  Yes.  A rooster.  Here we are on one of the busiest stretches of road in the state with people quickly coming and going from this gas station and market, and there is a rooster prancing around unknowingly greeting everyone.  Lynn Letner calls it such a lift and early morning chuckle when he pulls in, mostly in the mornings, and sees Rocky greeting everyone.  Bryan Wilson with Dump Your Junk said, “I’d just bought dog food, Kibbles and Bits, and pulled in at Murphy’s, and Rocky was there.  I offered him some dog food, and he gobbled it up.”  Ann Rutherford says he’ll even walk you to your car, and would probably go with you if you’d let him.

Wesley Duncan, the manager at Murphy, tells WLAF that Rocky lives somewhere close by and visits on occasion.  But he’s not here daily, he adds.

So, with a little luck, maybe Rocky will be at Murphy the next time you stop by.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/22/2019-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF LYNN LETNER)
