A man requested to speak with an officer and went to jail.

On Wednesday, Jan. 23, Deputy Cody Douglas went to speak with Thomas Justin Evans.  A report from the Sheriff’s Department details that Douglas called 911 and requested an officer to come speak with him at 150 Knotty Pine Lane at Morley.  Before Douglas could get there, dispatch notified him that Evans would meet him at the Hwy 90 bridge just down from Knotty Pine Lane.

When the two met, Evans allegedly told Douglas that he had some amphetamines and pulled them out of his coat pocket along with two small tied bags of clear crystal substance. Douglas asked if he had anything else and he said he did, three additional bags were found in his coat pocket. Evans allegedly admitted to using the substance but said he had not used since the day prior.

Evans was arrested and transported to the county jail. When he arrived, he was asked if he had anything else on him and he said he did not. One bag, like the others, was found inside one of his boots. While Evans was changing out in the bathroom he asked several times if he could flush the toilet. Douglas found a small bag like the others floating in the toilet.

Evans, 37, 156 Travillion Lane, Duff is charged with introduction of contraband into a penal institution and possession of schedule II-controlled substance. He is free this morning on a $700 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/31/2019-6AM)
