It was 11 years ago when #2 Tennessee defeated #1 Memphis at the FedX Forum on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008.  By the next Monday afternoon, the Vols were the Number 1 team in the land.  The following  Tuesday night, Tennessee faced off against Vanderbilt at Nashville.  The Commodores promptly nipped the Vols 72 to 69.  Even though Tennessee defeated Kentucky on the following Saturday, come the next Monday afternoon, the Vols were out of the top spot.

Tennessee took over the Number 1 spot yesterday for the second time in school history, and just around the corner is a Wednesday night game with Vanderbilt at Memorial Coliseum.  ESPN2 has the telecast beginning at 7 pm.
