“Carter saw the train coming but just could not get off the track.”  That’s how the Voice of the Lady Cougars Josh Parker described the Hornets dilemma on Tuesday night.  Campbell won 71 to 33 at Williams Gym.

The 38-point win was the 20th victory of the year for the Lady Cougars against two losses.  It also marks the 100th win for fifth-year Lady Cougar Head Coach Brad Honeycutt. (pictured above with Parker)

After a 29-point first half and a nine point edge at intermission, the Lady Cougars roared down the track with a 28 – 8 third quarter. That was followed by a 14 to 5 fourth quarter.  For the second-half, Campbell outpaced the Hornets 42 to 13.

Skylar Boshears and Madison Brady led a balanced scoring attack with 15-points each.  Brady tallied eight rebounds and five blocks.  Haley Comer came away with 13 points.  Lexy Richardson scored eight followed by seven from Emily Ellison, Kayleigh Jordan had six Blair Medley three, two each from Macy Monday and Raley Snodgrass.

“These girls were locked in, and they kept up the tempo,” said Honeycutt.  Campbell had 13 assists to nine turnovers giving the Lady Cougars 100 assists over the last five games.  The Lady Cougars had 42 points in the paint versus 14 for Carter.
