Tuesday was indeed a special day at Valley View Elementary School.  Not only were students returning from the holiday break, they were unsuspectingly wowed when they first walked into the school cafeteria.  More photos HERE.

While they were away, veteran artist Gale Hinton of Knoxville spent 10 of those days over their time away on break to completely change the look of their cafeteria and gym.  The eleven-hour days Hinton put in paid off as teachers and staff were totally impressed when they returned on Monday to see the change.  Tuesday’s reaction of the students even topped the teachers.

VVES Principal Jason Dotson was perhaps the most thrilled person of them all.  He could not get over what Hinton created.  Dotson said, “It’s amazing what she did.  We gave her a theme and the rest was all Ms. Hinton.”
