Man fails to pay attention and ends up in jail. 

 

Leo John Pace was driving on Pinecrest Road in Jacksboro last week when he noticed a stopped car delivering mail. Pace alleged he tried to swerve so he wouldn’t hit the car, but side swiped another car.

When Pace hit the parked car, he attempted to maintain control of his car, but left the road and struck a tree head on, according to a report from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department.

Detailed in the report is that Deputy Isaac Phillips noticed Pace’s pupils were constricted, and his speech was slurred. Phillips asked if Pace had taken any prescription medication prior to driving and he allegedly said he had three prescriptions he takes daily. After a series of sobriety tests, that he failed, Pace was arrested and transported to the jail.

Pace, 54, 122 Fire Department Lane, Jacksboro is charged with driving under influence (DUI), drivers to exercise due care, violation of TN financial law. Pace was released on a $3,000 bond.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/28/2018-6AM)
