A 22 – 9 lead was good as the first quarter wound down, but Campbell County High School Senior Skylar Boshears ended that good start with a buzzer beating three that wowed the home standing  crowd.     The Lady Cougars were up 25 to 9 at the end of the first frame against District 3 rival Halls as Bo led the way with 17 points.  That first quarter was just a taste of the Lady Cougars intensity that ran high for the balance of the game.

CCHS outscored Halls 14 to 8 in the second quarter to hold a 39 to 17 edge at the half.  The Lady Cougars built their largest lead at 47 to 25 before Halls chipped away for a final score of 60 – 47.

Boshears was tops for the night with 17 of her 22 points coming in that impressive first quarter.  Haley Comer added 14 to go along with Madison Brady’s double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Myra Sexton’s six points, Blair Medley’s four and Macy Monday’s three points rounded out the scoring.

The win will be short-lived as unbeaten Morristown West awaits the Lady Cougars Tuesday night in Hamblen County.  West is 11 and 0 while Campbell is 12 and 0.  The Lady Cougars are out of District 3 while West represents District 2 in this non-district match-up that tips off at 6 pm.

Halls outpaced the Cougars Monday night by a final score of 60 to 54.  CCHS is winless through its first 14 games.  At 7:30 pm, the Cougars take on a West team at Morristown Tuesday night that is 11 and 2 so far.
