Noah Lee Hatfield was spotted by LaFollette Police Officer Aaron Adkins driving a white Isuzu Trooper on Monday afternoon. Adkins had prior knowledge that Hatfield’s driver’s license was suspended, and the vehicle had expired tags.    He stopped the vehicle in the center of a school zone at LaFollette Middle School.  While approaching the vehicle Adkins noticed the driver and the passenger moving around. When Adkins made contact with the driver, who was later identified as Noah Lee Hatfield and his passenger who claimed to be Jason Crabtree, he noticed gun cases laying the back seat.

The pair continued to move around and act very nervous, according to the report. Adkins asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle to which they said no. A search revealed a loaded black AR rifle, a loaded 12-gauge pump shotgun and a loaded sawed-off single shot 12 gauge in the back seat of the vehicle, along with multiple rounds of ammo in the backseat of the vehicle, the report said.  When asked who the weapons belonged to, Hatfield and his passenger said they denied ownership.

Upon further investigation, Adkins discovered the passenger was not Jason Crabtree instead it was Anthony Todd Crabtree, and he had a pistol somewhere in the vehicle. Crabtree admitted to lying about his identity because he was on parole but did not know about a pistol. A black loaded 9mm pistol and blue plastic container containing four small blue bags with a crystal-like substance was found under the passenger seat where Crabtree was sitting. Again, both men denied ownership of the items. Several other small blue bags like the bags containing the crystal substance and a blue and silver digital scale with a crystal residue were found.
