It wasn’t easy for the Campbell County Lady Cougars to overcome Friday’s hard fought and highly emotional home win over Oak Ridge.  But they did.  And even made it look easy at times on Monday night at home with Carter.

Campbell overcame a sluggish first quarter and four turnovers to pour through 26 second-quarter points including a buzzer beating Skylar Boshears three to end the half.  It was 9 to 7 after the first-quarter and 35 to 16 at the mid-game break.

The third quarter saw the Lady Cougars post 20 points to Carter’s 17 to take a 55 – 33 edge into the fourth quarter as Kayleigh Jordan hit a bucket at the horn.  In the fourth,  CCHS put up 18 points with Carter tallying seven to total a final score of Campbell 73 and Carter 40.

Boshears was tops in scoring with 21-points.  Jordan added a dozen with Blair Medley putting up 11.  Haley Comer made eight points, six-each came from Lexy Richardson and Macy Monday with Madison Brady posting four, Alyssa Brown adding five and one from Macy Monday.

Campbell takes a 6 & 0 mark into Tuesday night’s district game with Central at Fountain City.  The Lady Cougars are atop the District 3 standings at 2 & 0.
