The timing has never been right to catch up with two men, and a dog,  we’ve all seen walking up and down the four-lane from La Follette to Jacksboro. Until Monday afternoon that is.
One of my former TV news directors once gave me the green light years ago to stop and talk and, if allowed, do a story on someone you see along the road.  The response has varied over the years from being cussed, told no, both or cooperation.  Tuesday was a two-for-two day.  Both men, Jack Brogdon and Doug Gibbs, gladly gave-in to a story and a photo.  Doug’s dog, Chico, even posed for a photo.

Real life came to the forefront quickly as I listened to each man’s story.  Perhaps what hit home quickest was the bitter wind they were dealing with not to mention the fact that one of them is homeless and a low of 25 with wind chills in the teens ahead Monday night.

Jack and Doug’s stories and photos are further down this page.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/27/2018-6AM)
