The 19-year old Smith, a freshman at the University of Tennessee, won in a run-off election on November 6th for the other fourth district school board post.
Mike Orick passed away in the spring, and his wife Jennifer was appointed to fill the position until the next election. Smith won the close race and will serve out the remainder of the term into 2020. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/21/2018-6AM)
