A Caryville man was sentenced this week to serve nearly 200-years in prison.     On July 25, 2018, and after a two day trial, a Campbell County jury found 55-year old Marvin Bullock guilty of four counts Rape of a Child, nine counts of Incest, five counts of Rape, three counts Sexual Battery by Authority Figure, one count of Solicitation of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, one count Aggravated Sexual Battery, and one count of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.

On Tuesday, Eighth Judicial District Criminal Court Judge E. Shayne Sexton sentenced Marvin DeWayne Bullock prison.  Bullock was given 178-years to be served in the custody of the Tennessee Department of Correction.

Bullock made statewide news coverage when he was arrested on June 22, 2016.  He was initially charged with more than 50 child sex crimes.  One law enforcement officer said that the victims were between nine and 16-years old.

This case was investigated and prosecuted by Lieutenant Detective John Long with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department. The Campbell County Children’s Advocacy Center and the Department of Children’s Services were an integral part of the investigation and prosecution in this case. The State was represented by Assistant District Attorneys General Meredith Slemp and Lindsey C. Cadle.
