This year’s completion of the state-of-the-art facility addition to the Roane State Community College  Campbell County campus was years and years in the making.  Perhaps it was only fitting that a proclamation from the Tennessee House of Representatives took months to arrive.   Thursday was that day.  The day a handsome proclamation arrived on the RSCC campus.  It recognizes Roane State’s long time Director Tracy Powers and the new multi-purpose science laboratory.  Powers successfully championed the construction of the 4,440 square-foot addition to the college’s Wheeler Building.

The grand opening of the addition was back in early July.  The proclamation was expected to arrive that morning ahead of the ribbon cutting, but it didn’t.

It didn’t take Powers long to decide where the proclamation should hang; immediately inside the front door.

Powers was both surprised and pleased at the arrival of the proclamation that includes the signatures of Speaker of the House Beth Harwell, Governor Bill Haslam, Representative Dennis Powers and Senator Ken Yager.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/05/2018-6AM)
