Leslie Earhart, a spokesperson with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, confirms to WLAF News that TBI Agents have been requested to conduct a death investigation at a home at 1172 South Highway 25W in La Follette.Earhart says that once more details are learned, she will pass them along.

A “shots fired” radio call from a Campbell County Sheriff’s Department Deputy came across to E-911 Dispatch just before 7:30 am Wednesday.  Fifteen minutes later, an ambulance and the La Follette Police Department SWAT Team were called to be on standby at a staging area at Big Creek Gap Baptist Church.

At 8 am, while WLAF News was at the staging area, La Follette Chief of Police Bill Roehl conveyed that the scene was secured.  About five-minutes earlier an ambulance had driven past the church directly to the scene.

The home sits on the right side of the road on a high bank about a mile north of La Follette.  That’s just around the bend above the Big Creek Gap Baptist Church.

No officers were injured.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/31/2018-6AM)
