The Eighth Judicial District Attorney’s Office third annual sporting clays tournament is next Friday.

The tournament, with proceeds benefiting the Children’s Centers of Campbell, Claiborne, Fentress, Scott, and Union Counties, will be held at the Chilhowee Sportsman’s Club, 7601 Old Railroad Bed Road in Maryville on Friday, Sept. 28.

This is a 100-shot competition where shooters participate in teams of four. The entry fee is $125 per shooter, which  includes breakfast, lunch and a golf cart per teams of four, according to the Facebook page promoting the event. The Union County FFA will act as chefs as it prepare a grilled chicken lunch for the shooters.

Morning and afternoon flights are scheduled.  A silent auction will be held during the event with one of the items up for grabs being a basketball signed by the University of Tennessee Men’s Basketball Coach Rick Barnes.

Shooting station sponsorships are still available. Individual and team prizes will be awarded.

This year shooters will also receive a T-shirt as a thank you.

All shooters must bring their own eye and ear protection along with shotguns and cartridges.
