Jimmy Orick pleads guilty to multiple crimes.

A one-time minister has pleaded guilty to inappropriate sexual conduct with a 16 year-old female.

On Monday, Jimmy Orick pleaded guilty to three counts of statutory rape, three counts of aggravated statutory rape and two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure. The plea was entered in Anderson County Criminal Court, which is the seventh judicial district, following Eighth Judicial Criminal Court Judge Shayne Sexton’s recusal from case.

Orick pleaded guilty to all of the charges in the original indictment that was returned in 2017. In the indictment the then 68-year-old was charged with having sex with a then 16-year-old female. The inappropriate relationship is alleged to have taken place from Oct. 2016 until Dec. 2016, according to the indictment.

While Orick did plead guilty, he wasn’t sentenced. Sentencing will take place in December in the same court.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/07/2018-1PM)
