Mother and daughter, Mary Johnson and Mary Gonzalez have always been close. The bond between them grew even tighter in 2015.

That is when Gonzalez was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Johnson had lost her husband in 2014 to cancer. After 18 months of chemotherapy, Gonzalez went into remission. The family felt a longing to reconnect with family members in Georgia, after facing the loss of Johnson’s husband and Gonzalez battle with cancer. The family packed up and moved to Georgia but felt a pull back to Tennessee to be with their church family and friends. When the family returned to Tennessee, Gonzalez did not want her mother to begin commuting to Knoxville for work again. She found that she wanted to spend all the time she could with her mother and the pair decided to start a cleaning service.
