The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new science lab on the Roane State Community College campus at La Follette is this morning at 10 am.

Several years ago, Tracy Powers, Director of RSCC – La Follette, came up with the idea of the science wing addition.  She says, ”This new science lab is critical to the success of our students. That is precisely why I am so grateful to those who made this happen. This is a state-of-the-art facility that will allow our local students to take their science lab right here at home. The classes are already full for fall. That speaks volumes.”

Prior to the new lab, students were traveling outside Campbell County to take lab courses.

Representative Dennis Powers and Senator Ken Yager have been working on this project for the past three years and, now, the day has come when students will benefit from Tracy Powers’ vision.

Governor Bill Haslam will be among the attendees at the ribbon cutting today at Roane State College on Independence Lane.  The ceremony begins at 10 am and is open to the public.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/05/2018-6AM)
