Dakota Sean Wade Lovins found himself in jail on June 8.

It is alleged Lovins was at a home on Hoot Owl Hollow Lane in Jellico when he pointed a pistol at the chest of man at the home and pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire. Lovins along with another man and a female left the home. Lovins and the pair went to his grandfather’s home, where deputies found them. Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Wayne Barton ordered everyone outside the home and temporarily detained for the officer’s safety. The property owner allowed the deputies to go inside the home and retrieve the pistol that was allegedly used, according to a report from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies found two pistols while inside the home, one the victim said Lovins had pointed at him.

Lovins, 23, 316 Hoot Owl Hollow Lane, Jellico is charged with aggravated assault. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 6/15/2018 6AM)
